It's just like a post-it note to draw attention, without being a proper, serious announcement.

We don't think so, no. Probably only B-listed. "The Pop Singer's Fear Of The Pollen Count" was A-listed, way back in '99.

I love post-it notes.

Sorry just thought I'd share that.

Similar appeal of a text message.

Claire,
Do you get notification of when they're played on any radio station? I'm curious as to whether any of the commercial stations have played it yet? Am now a Radio 2 listener, but was still flicking between Terry Wogan and Century FM early this morning.

What a week for DC and radio 2 fans! Not only will we get to hear Billy Bird at regular intervals but Johnnie Walker returns from is 9 month battle with cancer.

Marvel.

This is brilliant news!

Where's that thread that predicted the chart entry? I know the single buying masses don't neccesarily listen to Radio Two, but this is great news for 'Absent Friends' - because the elpee buying masses do! Woo hoo!

Yes!

And Neil has trounced Travis into B list territory. Snarf!

It will surely get massive airplay - the Belle & Sebastian song is always on Radio 2, also a B list song. Am I the only one to feel ...pride...?

Yay! Wooh! Very Happy This is great news. About bleedin' time! Belle and Sebastian have been played loads over the last few weeks - so if Billy Bird is played anywhere near as often I'll be a happy chap.

Gilders (I've been asked to pass this on, like some sort of secretary!) thinks this is a very good omen, as that's the last time TDC were on TOTP as well.

I'd be bloody surprised to see Neil on Top of the Pops again, though. Imagine it:
TOTP IN GOOD MUSIC SHOCKER!

Apparently the Divine Comedy have appeared on TOTP no less than five times. And Gina G presented it when Something For The Weekend was performed.

Well I'll be buggered.

Yes! Mr Bruce just said 'coming up shortly...'

I've been meaning to leave the house for about an hour. Will have to wait a couple of minutes longer.

Hmm just noticed that the board software replaces multiple spaces with single ones. Which is annoying, since I was always taught you should put two spaces after a full stop. Oh well...

In the days of typewriters, yes. Wink Some people still do, but I don't think it's the norm any more.

That reminds me of this extremely low budget quiz show type thing on BBC4. It's called 'Mind Games', and they just bring little puzzles and mind games in for each other, and see if they can work them out.

This weeks episode had the question "What ten letter word can be made, by only using the top row (qwertyuiop) of a typewriter"..

Ahh shows what a throwback to a bygone age I am then Razz I do think it's a good habit though, in as much it makes it easier to see where sentences start and end at a glance. I'd prove it to you by giving examples of each, but since the board will leave both looking the same, there's no point.

I've already been exposed to such things - either senior management (from typewriter days past) who send site-wide emails with double spaces, or those people who are just pretentious and think they know better.

I think word processors now automatically make spaces after full stops bigger than normal spaces don't they? And if you try and use 2 spaces in Word, it'll correct it to one space or give you a grammar error.

It's a bit annoying that this board does remove extra spaces though - you can't do any text/smiley-art for one thing.
