I'll be happy if it makes the top 40.

I think that we should all go out and purchase this item when it is released. None of this "I'm waiting for the album" nonsense.

It may then get into the charts.

I plan to buy it the day it comes out.

I've got it all planned.

I'll borrow Steve's personal CD player, then head in to Manchester the days it's released. Listen to it on the bus on the way back to work, and I have to make sure I'm in work for 10:10am, cos I've got a lesson. Which I cant be late for.

Then I will give my pupils a "mock exam", to keep the occupied, while I keep listening to the single.

Very Happy

is this CD1/CD2 thing in place now? where sales of both dont count?

Wonder if they will still release 2 CDs, even though they dont count.

Cos Id still buy the two.

Suppose another worry, is that if the 2 cds dont count, then i wonder what sort of effect it will have on the chart position.

In the past ive always bought CD1 and CD2 and DVD, and 7" and Casette, and Kebab, and everything else that is released.

hmmm, don't think it'd even get that high, seeing as perfect love song didn't even make the top 40, but top 30 sounds nice. will be a great song though, can't wait to hear how it sounds, mmmm.

Number Seven

And EVERYONE has GOT to go out and buy it. Twice. From seven different shops. It takes feck all to get a single in the charts nowadays.... Check out http://www.otnews.net/ - His fans got him into the top ten as a birthday present!

Round about March, it's probably going to need less than about 7000 to make the top ten... That's not an awful lot of records if everyone actually goes out and buys a copy, as opposed to waiting for the album... Come on, lets give him another top ten Smile

I'd say chances of it going Top 10 would be rather good, as Radio 2 (who are the real hitmakers these days in the world of national radio) will no doubt play it regularly, and most Radio 2 jocks seem to be fans (Ross, Bruce, Wogan, Wright, Vine...) and would mention the new album a bit too.

Oh, and one other thing - does whoever gets the right/nearest position win a BIG CASH PRIZE, at all?

I'll go and buy it just for the b-sides. Smile

Not sure what position it'll get to; I don't think serious Manic-types would buy it, so it'd have to be aimed at a younger audience perhaps... I think maybe number 12?

I agree with Gilderoy - if Radio 2 get behind the song it'll do well.

I'm going to go for a number two.

It's like the "official" one. The one based on record sales and not radio airplay etc.
