Oh my - I get poorly and this happens!

I missed reindeer cookies, ham in coca cola (surely a description of the Xmas tv schedules Wink ) and cake.

Happy sort of new year to all - just been listening to Absent Friends again, cheered me up no end (in an odd sort of way).

Been poorly? Hope it wasn't anything too awful (ie not too painful and allowing you to recline whilst the family tended to your whims).

Trust TDC to cheer you back up, here's to a fab 2013 Wink

Thanks for asking, but nope - insidious rather than serious. My whims sadly remain untended. Enough to remove my silliness for a while though.

Well it's good to see you getting back on form - and if nobody else will pander to your demands then jolly well treat yourself to something frivolous and enjoy every bit of it. Being sickly and getting over it is a triumph, and deserves a big prize even if you have to award it to yourself.

Girly night out on Saturday - cocktails count as frivolous and I'm determined to enjoy (hic) every one.

I just have to remember that Brandy Alexanders count as alcohol even though they taste like chocolate milkshake - don't want a repetition of the 'drunk from the legs up' incident Smile (Stand up, feeling 'quite sober, really',step boldly away from bar stool - fall over, cackling.)

I have a similar drinking problem where I do actually manage to walk away quite confidently but find myself rebounding off walls which have appeared where I'm sure they previously weren't. It's a most disconcerting side-effect of a normal, healthy booze-up.

Here's to Saturday night - only three days to go!

Three sleeps to go. But I made an origami penguin this afternoon for no reason (what reason could there be for an origami penguin?)- so I guess that counts too. Smile

That's the problem with walls - one drink and they're all over the place.

It's true, you need to keep an eye open for sudden walls at all times.

Anyway, don't think you're getting away without posting a penguin pic, let's have a look!

Hmm - not sure I know how to do that. I'll have a try - I think I need some kind of on-line site for my pictures so I can link?? Showing my ignorance again - must try to keep up!

Anyhow it's not the sudden walls that are the problem - it's the stealth ones.

Something like Photobucket would be your friend if you want to post your own pics (but beware! you happily fill it up then they slap a fee on you which you either pay or have the account sort of frozen)

Stealth Walls...lordy! I hadn't thought of that. So they lurk about unseen until we have a bit of recreational booze, then materialise at the worst moment? It's almost enough to turn a person teetotal, or develop ninja senses, think I'll be going for the latter starting tomorrow, yippeee! And of course I shall look even cooler with my shifty eagle eyes whilst downing vats of wine .....

Well hello Shivers! Congratulations on finishing the Masters - *bows down in awe* Very Happy

Good luck with the job hunt! I've been a hermit too for a bit - too many jobs have found me (freelancing is great - but I do need to learn to say 'no, I'm too busy')

Have some frivolous fun too - you deserve it.

Well, I am a gardener (but not for a living - too ancient and puny for that Smile ). I tutor horticulture too, among other random things.

My garden however is a mess - too much time spent in front of a screen.

It's not a bad looking mess at the moment - lots of snowdrops (and even some sunshine today).

Lucky you - no forest trees for me I'm afraid (got some fruit trees though - cider and jam! Smile ) Just need some sun to go with the spring flowers now.

How goes the job hunt? Well I hope.

Had to post this somewhere - drudging along to work with my trusty MP4 plugged into both ears this morning, what should pop up but The Lost Art of Conversation. It is THE best song to stride out to whilst wearing a massive grin. Thanks!

Not too bad now - just about able to produce a rabbit from a hat (or should that be a habit from a rat?)

I've missed you! Nobody else could leave me picturing a rat in a nun's habit (kind of cute, a bit like Death of Rats in those Terry Pratchett books only more holy obviously). This is the more wholesome thought you provoked, actually extricating a habit out of a rat was not the best mental picture as I scoffed my tea. But thanks for it anyway Shocked

Right - I was supposed to be writing tutorial materials (yawn!) popped in here for a moment - and have spent far more time than I should trying to draw a rodent in a wimple.

(Not easy - my efforts so far are more scary Egyptian god-thing than cute and whimsical Ratty -and -Moley type thing)

Good to know that silliness is still contagious. Very Happy

Incidentally - behavioural psychologists pull habits out of rats.

I would like to second, third and fourth this suggestion. If we don't see the pic of a rodent in a wimple I simply can't go on.

But to go on a bit, I am much intrigued by these behavioural psychologists. Why was this career not suggested to me at secondary school? Instead I've become an oppressed wage slave of Cardiff County Council. Arg.

Hello everybody.. I used to post here too but a mixture of life, other forums, and sorry to say, slight waning of interest in the music, though will always love the old albums, just seem to have drifted off a bit. Nice to see some old names though.
