Hello. I miss you lot. Are you still there?

Having just received an email from an ex-tdcbb-er reminded me that I spent a whole chunk of my life in this forum. Facebook, Twitter, pfft. We were social networking before it even had a name.

The last time I came here I found out (via Autumn -is she still here?) that Lawrence had died. Finding out through a pm hammered it home that this board wasn't as close to real life as I'd assumed. My mistake. I was gutted I couldn't add a message as the thread had been locked.

But, anyway, everything moves on and I'm sure the board has moved on too. Just popping by really to say hello and to see if folk from the days of yore still post?

Such as ... Black Sheep Boy, dagada, Witch, Blue Circles, Luvly, Autumn, Jen, Uncle Neil, Geordie, Lilypod, Eeyore, Benji, Sponge, The Seniors, Airboy, Woodshed, Phil, Lodestone, Lovely Pink Elephant, So Real, Universal, etc etc... You know the era...

Sponge! So the best time to reach you is around 2am on a Sunday? I'll make a note.

And what about Bubbles, Stick, Kitsch, Katja, PRJ45, etc etc?

Nothing much going on here, most of the BBers you named are on FB nowadays or/and on Twitter.

It is quiet! It used to be a hive of discussion and occasional discord on a variety of topics, but now seems to have been overtaken by Facebook etc. Happy times though. Smile

Yes, but with Facebook you'll never get "Regeneration is Pants" and "Neil and his Faith" threads going on for months (or was it years?). A topic can only last a day or two on Facebook. Nyeh Facebook. And pffft to Twitter. You couldn't even type "pffft" on Twitter before you ran out of characters. Or money. I heard it's 15 an hour to use Twitter. Or is that 'hand relief'?

Aw I dunno, I quite like Twitter, it's like Twentington said (I think), it's like seeing someone famous in a pub and wondering whether you should say hello or not. I never really tweet anything profound, but I like reading what folk have to say or recommend.

That one's a canny old goose though. One minute she Parps away insouciantly about a woman's bibbies, the next she's deleted any mention of bibbage. I've met her kind before. Beware. They used to call them 'mermaids' in the days of yore. I suspect she may have a tail.

I used to come on here a lot around 2000/2001 when I first went to Uni. I'm not sure but I seem to remember the site first having the message board just before Regeneration came out. Some of the discussions about Regeneration used to get quite heated if I remember rightly.

I was called Pecket back then I think, but I didn't post too much as I was more shy than I am now Smile

I first came in here in 1952. After inventing the internet and building this forum, I used it to prophesy the birth of an Irish singer/songwriter who would be known as Neil Hannon. It's all gone downhill since then.

Hi Chris (how's lovely Guido?), Luvs and all you other "old-timers". *Hugs*. I still come here sometimes, and am sad that it is so quiet now. I miss Lawrence and the vitality of the site 8-10 years ago. I'm not on Facebook or Twitter either, I'm too old-fashioned. I've now reached the stage where a lot of "modern" pop music sounds the same to me; I've officially turned into my mum! Embarassed
Will still keep returning here; this site means a lot to me, even if I'm too shy to post often.

Eeyore! GMail took your emails and hid them in a spam folder! Sorry! Guido is okay. He's a little frail these days and on tablets for thyroid problems, but he's still treated like the king of the jungle he truly is.

Hello! I join those poking their heads out of the woodshed. I still check in occasionally but don't read the threads or post so much any more.

Glad that Guido is still around, and hope he won't want to join the dogs and the horses for a good while longer. I was only thinking of him recently, though lord knows how I ended up thinking of a cat I've never met.

Facebook is the spawn of Satan.
