Oooh, M Craft's the fella. I keep trying to like him, but he does nothing for me. Which is a shame, as Zooey does lots for me.

Currently listening to the snippets of:

Monkey - Journey to the West
which are on the MySpace page. Kinda digging the sound - more like the electro bits of Demon Days, which is no bad thing.

I ran off for a while, heard bits and pieces, but what I've heard so far I like. (not love)
Some of the songs have an American country-sound thing going on, but still, kind of fun.
Zooey is too adorable to resist.

I really liked M Craft when I saw him live at a festival a couple of years ago, but haven't bought anything of his since. & I've listened to one She & Him song, but dismissed it yonks ago/ didn't wow me too much.

I'm currently subscribing to emusic this month, and have downloaded some cool stuff I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise. Although I'm worried whether it will lead to me downloading albums instead of buying them on cd- which jut seems a bit wrong.

Effington, baby! I'm also quite pleased about pointing out the song 'Way To Normal' from the 'fake' leak as being the only track which made the leak seem fake, as it's not on the album. This does mean The Bitch Went Nuts is on the album though, and I'm not so keen on that one. Yet. Same goes for now included 'Kylie from Connecticut'. At least Cologne and You Don't Know Me are on it. Roll on September 30th!

A bit like with Silverman, there's four editions of the damn thing:

-vinyl
-standard cd
-deluxe cd
-super duper deluxe cd in a box with a poster and book and that.

And it's all US only. Tsk.

I'm listening to bits on their site now. I love Buddah is really Parklife era Blur. Not sure if he'd appreciate that comparison...

Ben Folds on the fake leak from a few weeks back, along with snippets from the real new album.

Dead interesting. I have to admit to listening to some tracks from the leak an awful lot (especially Way to Normal, Dr Yang and The Bitch Went Nuts) because they're really fun, silly, poppy little songs, like the big '** you' songs on Whatever and Ever. The weirdy little synth bits on the clips from the new album kinda excite me in a way that only Dag can usually achieve.

No news on UK editions yet though.

Oh, and currently listening to:

I ignore the naysayers regarding Springsteen because well...let's face it, the guy has been making great, pure rock 'n roll tunage for ages.

Hey GDF, leave the kids alone darn ya. They are singing the praises of Martha and rightly so.

I'm currently trying to find out if there's a Springsteen-related tour available in New Jersey, my parents are going to NYC (FINALLY!!) in October and will be there for my dad's birthday, so I think a visit to some Springsteen-related spots would be nice for him.

rusteeee - if you haven't already, get thee the first Martha album too. Mmmm.

I've been listening to the Immaculate Collection today, due to all the Madge talk that's been going down for the last few days. The woman's a psycho, clearly, but that doesn't affect the fact that she had some bloody great songs.

I listened to this on the way back from the dentist this morning. There's nothing like a swift combination of painful oral surgery and the angelic tones of an overweight homosexual singing about hope and failure to put you in the best mood for the week ahead. Sad

You have to admit that Bleeding All Over You would be an "ideal" song for post-dental work listening.

I'll do a look-around to see if anything shows up.
Perhaps some of the Jersey/NY people here know though.

Now listening to:

ARJ, as a long-time New Jerseyan, I don't know of any official Bruce Springsteen-related tours off-hand but I do know that Asbury Park, NJ and Long Branch, NJ are areas where The Boss used to play a lot. Both towns are along the New Jersey shore. Asbury Park and Long Branch used to be big commercial shore towns with attractions but not anymore. There also used to be an "Asbury Park Rock and Roll Museum", which featured Bruce Springsteen memorabilia.

http://www.beyondthepalace.com/newjersey/rnr.html

The Stone Pony is a venue in Asbury Park where Bruce often played with the East Street Band in the early days. http://www.stoneponyonline.com/info/history.html.
It might be a point of interest that's worth visiting.

I don't think Bruce will be performing in New Jersey in October. However, you might want to keep checking the official Bruce site:
http://www.brucespringsteen.net/live/index.html

There are also at least a couple of Bruce Springsteen tribute bands in the New Jersey area.

http://www.bruceintheusa.com/home2006.htm

http://www.bstreetband.com/

I hope this helps.

Oh my god! My sister has that, I think. Does it feature Honey to the Bee by Billie? My mam thought that was called Horny to the Beat when she first heard it and was slightly shocked.

I know, I remember distinctly my sister had just bought it (it was 1999) and we were all coming back from somewhere and she insisted on playing it in the car. As she was singing along, my mam started looking a bit worried, thinking the song was filthy. There's some strangely connected synapses in her brain, alright...

I had Nows 28-34. They got progressively worse as time went on. I believe the Now Danielle is listening to also includes Walk Like A Panther by All Seeing I.

EDIT: On which point: http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=9ez2kR3N0TA
