Hey.

Saturday 12 April Time: 7:15pm to 8:15pm

Jen pointed this out initially, but I have just see an article in the Manchester Evening News, and their is definitely a kid doing Neil Hannon tonight on Stars In Their Eyes.

I will capture the performance and stick it up on my site later this evening. Will be up around midnight.

NOTE : the sound quality wont be great, but it will be ok. Not bad, not great. just ok. Very Happy

The kids from Manchester as well. Looks a bit like Neil, but not much.

Woohoo.. hey phil, I can always do the job if ya like (if you're worried about quality etc) - I happen to have my Dad's DV camera over the weekend, so I can record from telly via video onto the camera, then dump to PC as DV and compress. Tada!

The Kylie girl was arse. She sang through her nose and came over a right cocky little cow.

And her little brother "adores" her? If I had a 15 year old sister that dressed up as Kylie every night I'd *adore her too.

*If I were that way inclined.

Come on Ickle Neil!

Ooh! The ickle Hannon's balls have, indeed, dropped. Lots of baritone vocals then - I was worried they were still in his stomach (or wherever balls hang before they drop)

Come on Ickle Neil!

"When your hips are the size of a small country"??

He's not bad - far too confident a stage performer to be Neil though...

Claire, do you know if Neil was watching that? Or, indeed, if he had to meet the little bugger like he did the last guy..? Would be funny to know what Neil thought of it. Smile

It wasn't bad as a performance.... needless to say, not a great Neil impersonation, but on the right lines. The "backing band" (those people waving various musical instruments around in the background) were pretty cringeworthy.

It was pretty cringey to watch. As I said - my eyes were streaming with tears by the end of it! I dunno what the guy on the piano was playing, but I don't think it was The Divine Comedy!

Well. I voted for Little Neil to encourage him. I didn't think he did too badly considering he was only 14. Not many boys would have been able to sing those low notes at that age.
Not that I normally watch that programme. Smile

Thank you, Phil!

P.S. Have any non-Brits watched it? Does that programme look as cheap to you as it does to us?

I like it u know.

I know its brilliant, but come on! he's 14, on telly, and doing someone that i think is difficult to impersonate.

very few people actually know who Neil Hannon is, and if they do, National Express is the only song that they know anyway.

Plus, we are very very critical anyway, cos we know so much about Neil, and have seen/heard so many performances.

Has anyone else noticed how big that lads feet are?

I'm sure he's got a bright future ahead of him then, even if he doesn't make it as a singer...

So, why do it then ?

He should've done someone from Blazin' Squad. I'm sure you don't need much talent to impersonate one of them.

Or that other fella, Justin Trousersnake.
