Mr. Neil himself!

Woo!

And his hair looked all darkish, almost a reddish darkishness, but that could just have been the lighting.

He was on the Meteor Ireland Music Awards presenting an award for best newcomer. Oh wow, I can barely breathe!

(Irish TV of course so few of you peeps can see it! Mwahahahaha!!!

*chokes, coughs splutters and collapses*)

Ok, I ramble on a bit. I'm over excited anyway, very hyperactive. But you get the message of what I was trying to communicate.

Hope you're all jealous! Twisted Evil

I don't blame you for rambling, I'd get excited if I saw Neil on the telly. But I never do. I think the last time was when he was on A Question of Pop, or whatever it was called.

Don't mention it, love!

And that QOP thing wasn't very good, so don't worry too much about missing it. The thing that excited me the most was seeing a clip of the 'Becoming More Like Alfie' video. That made me happy.

I do believe that I have NEVER seen Neil on the television or video etc. This residing in the States thing seems to get in the way.
Glad that you got to see him though! Smile

I saw him on the Meteor thing too. I was just after having my nap (I realise this is strange for a 22 year old) and I was streching on the sofa and lo and behold.

He looked a bit embarrassed but he made a joke. Luckily didn't have to give the award to Six. I hope we've heard the last of them. That does mean that one of them will move back to Galway and I'll have to put up with her "people are so jealous of me" routine when out with my friends. Lord!

Ooh, yes, he was. I remember that. They had a short chat where Neil asked the audience if he should keep the name Divine Comedy. They obviously couldn't have cared less, though.

Oh, and I'm 23 and like having an afternoon nap too, Das Kitty. I often think I shouldn't be doing it... but, well, it's just so damn nice.

Ooh, I nearly forgot about that one. Have it on video somewhere at home. I might watch it next time I'm down there, if I remember.

Well, I'm not sure it'll be repeated over here, and the chances are very slim that it'll be broadcast on non-Irish television.

I didn't think there'd be a chance in hell that Neil Hannon would be at the Meteor Awards, and I don't think I'd have lasted if I had tried to watch it, given the acts that were listed in the RTE Guide in the various categories.

I always miss neil on tv. I missed the question of pop thing and still haven't seen it, i taped that jonathon ross thing but had missed off a bit of the interview so tried to record the repeat, but set it to the wrong channel and taped over what i already had!! *weeps* Do you remember him on that 'best musician of the millenium' s**t or whatever it was?? I nearly died! I remember the night very clearly. Him AND Jarvis Cocker were on sat next to each other talking about music! Jarvis had on a bright pink jumper and neil said that bohemian rhapsody was 'an atrosity of a song'. Hehehe! Oh and he played that mack the knife song thingy. And I remember being naked cos it was late and very hyper and i jumped around the bedroom with my guitar screaming wildly for a few hours with a huge grin on my face! Maybe I've said too much now.....

hello,
they just repeated the show on RTE, didn't Neil look lovely! It was best newcomer award and Neil pretended to be shocked when he opened the envelope and said something along the lines of "My God! They have nothing to do with Louis Walsh!" Made me giggle.
cheers,
john
