Exactly, and that is why the Brum must be shunned.

I went to Brum before Christmas. I was captured by pirates.

Woo! Liverpool!

Was limbering up for a 6 hour journey to Edinburgh, but that's quite near me!

Why do Brummies always complain as soon as anything doesn't go there? Surely, being an hour or two away from London AND Liverpool by train, you've done quite well? They're hardly in Peru! Razz It's people in Newcastle and the like I feel sorry for!
Neil should be playing at the Philharmonic hall, that'd be a fantastic venue... Royal Court will do, though!

Hello all, btw, former lurker decided to have a pop at contributing!

Because we're usually attacked and ridiculed by people who don't have a clue what they're talking about.

...along with scousers, glasweigans, mancunians, the Irish, etc. You'd think everyone in a city north of Watford was

(a) a drunk
(b) thick
(c) a thief
(d) a yob
(e) all of the above

I think Brum is fab, btw! Was only pulling your leg, BC! Smile

This is true. Having been to Brum, I can confirm that it's actually quite nice. The sun was shining, and the pirates were very friendly towards me. I did manage to get lost in the astonishing maze of shopping centres that seems to stretch between the exhibition centre and the station, though. And that's why it must be shunned.

The pirates must've been lost, too... Brum's quite landlocked...

Embarassed I will (hopefully) be going to the Paris gig, hence do not feel deserving of this sympathy. However, I will take the sympathy and instead apply it to my recent experience at the hands of Ticketmaster **, and return it with interest to your experience with Liverpuddle ticketing **.

Still think it's a bit neglectful not to include at least one Irish date with that orchestral line-up. I hope Mr Hannon gets doleful looks from the instrumentally-deprived when he's walking the streets of Dublin.

i was just being kind in granting magical powers onto neil's orchestra, as i had read earlier today about some woman called susanna, and she's a norweigan, and she has a magical orchestra!
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/s/susanna-and-the-magical-orchestra/list-of-lights-and-buoys.shtml
so thought it only fair that neil had one too!

I would just like to confirm that the Dublin show is now the final date for this run of orchestral shows. There may, possibly* be more orchestral shows later in the year, but for now, that's definitely it. I thought I'd mention it so as to avoid any confusion or doubt for anyone deciding whether to book tickets etc.

* i.e. that's a small chance...

Okay, firstly, I think it's really great that there's an Irish date. Hurrah! I'm glad Irish peeps will get the chance to hear Neil with the ensemble, and I'd love to see a DC show in the Gaiety, because it's an old style Dublin theatre and it seems like a really nice venue. But given that there'd been an announcement that that was it for the UK/large orchestral dates, and no indication that there was an Irish date coming, I'd gone ahead and booked my flights for France, and am due to arrive back on May 3rd. Confused I'm not moaning about going to France, but I really, really wish there'd been just some indication that they were trying to make a Dublin booking, however tentative or qualified that announcement would've been...

It's not nice indeed!
I feel Neil should take Lilypod with him on the plane back home for the two of them!
And give her free tickets to the show (of which, obviously, she will give me one) Very Happy

There, that's settled!!!

Seriously, it really sucks that they waited so long before adding a Dublin gig.
Especially as you won't be going to it because you've already booked Paris

And it means I can't stay with Lils if I decide to go to Dublin! Neil deserves a proper spanking.

What an incredibly selfish conclusion.
Staying with Lils after the concert would be out of the question anyway, as Lils lives in Cork, a six hour busdrive from Dublin.

I don't think I'm going to make any of the gigs. I hope they film one.
