Saturday 22 March 2014, 7.30pm, Royal Festival Hall
The Divine Comedy frontman has created a series of vivid musical scenes for organ and choir which evoke the constriction, the mystery and magic, the boredom, and the hard-won freedoms of a childhood Sunday. The performance will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3, conducted by Rebecca Miller and features organist Tom Bell, Strings of the BBC Concert Orchestra and a Voicelab ensemble.
Voicelab are recruiting an 80-strong ensemble to perform in this special concert, with rehearsals at Southbank Centre in evenings and weekends throughout February and March, led by Lea Cornthwaite.
We are looking for confident singers with a passion for singing contemporary classical music and strong sight-reading skills to take part in this exciting project.
Auditions will be held at Southbank Centre on Saturday 1 February 2014.
