Neil has written a song for the forthcoming "Holy Motors" film.

Directed by the legendary Leos Carax, and starring Denis Lavant, Eva Mendes and Kylie Minogue, the film is currently "in competition" at Cannes.

Holy Motors - Guardian Film Review (5 Stars)

The song is titled "Who Were We?" and is sung by Kylie's character.
An instrumental version also appears over the end credits!

The film will be released in France on the 4th July.

The movie sounds very intriguing according to what I've read...

Did Neil get the chance to watch it yet ? I've heard that the actors didn't until the first screening in Cannes at which Neil wasn't...

It seems that then the movie was screened at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival early this monthwhich I missed, but I'm going to see it at the Paris Film Festival next Thursday.

According to the film's Facebook page:

Leos Carax, Denis Lavant, Edith Scob and Kylie Minogue (!) will be attending this screening. If Neil haven't seen the film yet, this would be a great opportunity for him to do so Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes

I meant to log-in and inquire about this when I first heard some rumours back in January. Carax + Hannon is like a match made in heaven.

Is it worth getting all fan-boy about it and saying Carax is probably my third favourite living film-director (just behind Godard and Neil Jordan; though these days the author of Mauvais Sang is getting some serious competition from the great Dane Christoffer Boe)? Of course - I'm quietly ecstatic! Very Happy

There was always the fear that Carax would never make another film after the poor reception of Pola X back in '99, so it's excellent to have him back. Working with the Hannon is like an added extra.
