Eels use Resonance for the UK online store and I was a little uncertain about ordering from them after some slow service in the past and some non-existent service when it came to their Tindersticks store. However, there was a knock at the door earlier and it was the postie presenting me with the vinyl edition of this. Genuinely surprised at how efficient they were - not to mention cheap - with this order. Sounds great, by the way.

I've ordered the cd/dvd version from hmv, which should hopefully arrive on Monday. I have the vinyl single, but haven't listened to that or anything from the album, so am looking forward to my first listen of it all.

HMV have had deliveries held up due to some strike at the Guernsey docks - I seem to remember it was something to do with firemen - so hopefully Monday for the new releases. Can be as early as Friday sometimes but, as with your Eels CD/DVD set, my copy of the new Elvis Costello failed to show this morning, despite being dispatched in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Anyhoo, this album is really very good. I already adored the single and the closing track of Side A, 'The Longing' is beautfiul.

I don't particularly mind waiting, as I am still loving Dear Reader so much, and still need to listen more to My Latest Novel. Plus I've got 60+ emusic downloads to try out some new stuff. This album in particular is sounding very nice (and is on spotify also):

I assume the money saved on the packaging was well used on the recording?

Stumbled across this review for 'The Singer' by Teitur, which compares him to Neil: http://www.list.co.uk/article/15736-teitur-the-singer/

Not listening to it - just wondered if anyone else has?

I'd read a review of it from teletext a while ago I think, and have just downloaded it from emusic. I think it's reminding me of someone else, but not sure, but sounds quite nice on first listen so far.

Teitur seemed to get even better as the album went on. Must listen some more to decide if I fancy splashing the cash to see him on Wednesday.

It's overplayed these days, which is a shame, because I think a lot of people forget what an absolute work of genius this is (the title track and Vincent in particular).
