Autumn.....I just watched it. Yep. Cheesy TV. But I liked that little Neil guy. I did laugh out loud though at the "hips" thing. Gotta give the kid credit though for having some class......wanting to be Neil ! A 14 year old, goin' for the low notes too! Yeah! He has guts, I'll give 'em that.

Yeah, all of the above.

I have to say though, that piece of footage is the only time that I have ever wished that Neil had never ever put on a suit. What was that repulsive mustard yellow confection? Ugh...

I thought he had a voice more suited to Elvis, myself.

And that suit was awful. Neil never wore a yellow suit! Granted, the Lib pictures were done with a yellow filter over the lens, but only a fool would base his dress entirely on that.

I think he was referring to the picture of the person with her lips round a large instrument, dear.

ha, was very funny. told my two flatmates who were with me that day that it would be coming on, and thus they would have to watch it. and then david just goes on about how the kid would be a super eeky guy. and what happens???????????

he was the eek king!!! games workshop??? dungeon master??? eek king of eek kings???!!!! curses.

anyway, was a funny enough performance. i personally loved the crazy instrument people, they were great. and curses for tv not allowing him to say arse, even though it had been played on the radio feck loads! stoopid...

Hullo everyone.

Fair play to the little fella for having the balls to do that, but I cannot be the only one who thinks he may have faired better if he'd said he was going to be Rick Astley...

As for the 'hips' thing, why can't people say 'arse' on prime time telly, but it was perfectly okay for that Kylie girl to dress in something of a provocative manner, pout and dance about like a harlot, claiming that "I want to make it with you"? This country, eh?

*sigh*

Most of my friends, none of whom particularly like our Neil, watched it, and I didn't. Which meant I had to put up with a large number of "Guess what made me think of you last night"s at school today. Ah well. Downloading now, thanks, Phil!

Hips/Arse interjection.

Now, some musos on here can correct me but I have a feeling that while you can just do a cover version of someone by paying the publishing fees - if you want to change even one single word of their song you have to get written permission from the author of said song?

Claire, did Neil get asked or told about the spods song changes?

No, Neil didn't get asked about it. However, to be honest we don't think he has enough spare time to worry about it - it's not a big deal and not something that would bother him.

I don't know if Neil saw his performance but while I'm here, we'd like to say well done to Louis for having a go. (Hello if you're reading this!) He has excellent musical taste and confidence. Smile
