You can now get an interview with Dr Talbot on DVD, which comes with the League of Gentlemen Christmas special as a bonus feature from CD WOW for just £7.99 here: http://www4.cd-wow.com/detail_results_2.php?product_code=3460

Is about £15-£20 most places so a bargain I'd say...

also, I don't know if this is known on the board, but at the moment you can get the Louis Theroux's weird weekends box set of videos in Poundstretcher for £3.99

thought a few people here might like to know that one.

Never had any trouble with em personally (although they are based outside the country which can make returns more awkward)

So what's the interview actually like, then? In what way does the good Doctor impress (seeing as he obviously won't be doing that on a video...)?

It would be impossible for a woman of any standing or standard of sanity not to like anything featuring the estimable Dr. Talbot...

I like the Chrimbo special. It's extremely dark, and not funny in the traditional sense of Christmas specials, but is most clever if you have a good knowledge of traditional chrimblex ghost stories and anthology horror movies. It's also a sign of the direction the league wish to move towards, so tough luck if you hate it!

I didn't know it was on last night. Sad However, my DVD arrived from CD WOW this morning (after ordering last Tuesday, after the Christmas posting deadline, so I must say I'm rather impressed!). Smile My DVD player hasn't actually arrived yet though... Confused

Plus my new comp is being very tempermental. Last night was its first night of use and it crashed 4 times. It doesn't seem to like chat at all, 3 out of the 4 crashes were when I tried to log onto chat. This may be because I'm working through a router now, with a network card. The technical side is my dad's department really. It sort of half logged on, then the screen froze and then my hard drive made a series of very disturbing clicking noises (I've never heard a comp do that before). But I'm not telling him until after Christmas, 'cos he'll just take the comp apart in the front room again, thus depriving me of a computer and driving my poor mum to distraction over the festivities.

Sorry for the resume of life in the Witchy household there, I think Christmas has some sort of airboy paul effect on me. Except with punctuation and capital letters, obviously... Wink

The interview with Joby is mainly about the direction he took with the music in the Xmas special, and how he tried to make the score as much like the classic hammer horror movies as possible. He talks about problems he had whilst recording it, and how he went WAY over budget because of "digital clicks".
Interestingly enough, Joby is actually in the Christmas special.
He is sitting in the veterinary surgery waiting room just before it all kicks off, holding a sheep on a lead.

If you don't find it funny, then you are obviously not clever enough to enjoy one of the most inspired and original pieces of comedy work in recent years. Laughing

Watched the Joby interview this morning, having deftly removed the DVD from Witchy's bag last night. My my, he does recline in a debauched manner, does he not?

And I may not have heard it correctly (my parents will insist on talking to me...) but did the interviewing man say Joby was to become a father soon? Could Claire throw any light on this when she comes back from her festive break?
